About Solid Waste Services
The Wilkinson County Solid Waste Department helps administer residential and commercial garbage collection and disposal services for eligible areas of the County.
The County office can assist residents with questions involving solid-waste accounts, service enrollment, County collection fees, and other administrative matters.
Garbage collection services are currently provided through Wilkinson County's contracted collection provider.
Garbage Collection Information
Weekly Collection
Residential garbage collection is generally provided once each week on the assigned collection day.
Set Out by 6:00 a.m.
Place garbage curbside the night before collection or no later than 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.
Bags & Containers
Household waste should be placed in tied bags or appropriate customer-provided containers to help prevent litter and spillage.
Collection Limits
Current collection guidelines include quantity, container-weight, and bundled-rubbish limits. Residents should review the current collection guidelines before placing large amounts of waste curbside.
Holiday Schedule
Collection schedules may be delayed during observed holidays. Check the current service schedule or service alerts when a holiday occurs during the collection week.
Hazardous Waste
Hazardous waste is not accepted as part of regular household garbage collection. Do not place hazardous materials or lithium-ion batteries in regular garbage.
